REKINDLING MY CREATIVITY?

Myself and a fellow BOLDFACER Dan (he's one of our photographers) at the Beehive for one of the fashion week kick off parties

I just came up with an advertising campaign for BOLDFACERS and Lisa Pierpont (founder/editor in chief and did I mention EMMY AWARD WINNER) loved it! Not only that she asked me to spearhead it! I'm uber excited to take this on I've never done anything like this before. We will meet up sometime soon and discuss how it's going to be attacked. I can't wait to be able to share more, but because it's in the extreme beginning stages (I came up with it this morning upon waking up and just told her about it like an hour ago) I probably shouldn't jump too far ahead of myself. I hope it works out fantastically. I had been on a creative slump for like a year. Literally. Hardly any writing, dancing, or creating for months on end until very recently when I realized I'm in charge of my destiny. I think I really hit rock bottom as far as being able to keep up with this stupid ass paper pushing job I have. It was ruining my mind until I came to the understanding that shit didn't have to be that way. But hey, it pays the bills right? Hopefully something else will be able to aid me in doing such in the very near future. Oh yeah, I'm planning to strike out on my own and I'll have deets about that soon as well (I hope). Can't wait to share everything!

BOLDFACERS Rockettes shoot at the Wang

So I told you how I started working with BOLDFACERS, no? Well I have. And so far, so good. The other day I had the pleasure of assisting them on a few shoots that will be featured for profiles on the site in the (near) future. One was for a theater director and the other was for the Rockettes! They’ll be in Boston in December for almost the entire month, so they were around doing press. We did the shoot in the beautiful Wang Theater. I took a few pics. Idk if I was supposed to or not, but I did. Pretty right?

I take the worst pics ever. Maybe it's time for a class...

BOLDFACERS

ok so my life may have just gotten a little more exciting. Actually, no, it definitely did. Last week I was looking through the BOLDFACERS website and I decided it would be pretty nice to work for them. So like I've done with a million other places I see and like I sent them an email asking if they needed any help. I never get anything back (womp to you Boston night clubs and Forever21), but imagine my surprise when only a few hours later I was emailed by the founder of the online 'zine herself. I had an interview last Friday, chose to stay and help out, and that was that. On Thursday I'll be working at the vintage pop up shop being held at The W hotel in downtown Boston. Monday I'm supposed to be helping out at a shoot. This is almost like a dream come true. The only part missing is that it's unpaid. I probably wouldn't have landed the position if it were though, so they get my labor and I get to learn. Sounds great to me! Come out and support on Thursday! It's at the brand spankin new W hotel...you know you wana... :)
