Great Year!

I've had such a lovely year. There has been so much reorganizing and growing happening with me this year it's ridiculous. A lot of people say "new year, new me" and as corny as it sounds it's absolutely true in my case. My entire life is about to change. I'm leaving this awful office to venture out and hopefully find my true calling in the mean time. I'm already on deck over at Boldfacers...just spoke with the Founder/Editor and chief and got put in charge of our next shoot day which happens to be January 12th. 6 shoots, 6 very different people, one day. In comparison with sitting at a desk pushing paper and entering numbers into an Excel spreadsheet all day. I'll take the former, please. And while money will be tight and life might get a little hard, all I'll have to do is look back on this day and remember the state of bliss that I was in and I think that will be enough to keep me pushing forward. It may seem crazy to think that I really believe that I could be down and out and poor and thinking about being happy will be enough for me to survive on, but if you think that's crazy for me you may not know me very well if at all. I hated what my life had turned into and at first I was devastated about leaving this place, but I realized it was solely for monetary purposes. This is a blessing in disguise for me, a new beginning and I'm taking it and running. How many people get the chance to start all over? Lots of people can, but not enough have the balls. Most of my family thinks my job is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I can't front anymore. Not only was I not making enough money here, I lost myself in a foreign world and was almost too weak to make it back to where I belong. But I woke up and I have a second chance to be myself. I'll be damned if I let it slip away. Kisses to you all and may you have a safe and lovely night :) So yeah, 2010, while you were great you're leaving soon. Suck my swagg indeed.

Lovely Weekend

Inspiration for life...

I had the most lovely weekend and it's lovingly spilling over into my week. This is my favorite time of year :) I love all of the holidays, the feeling in the air, the food, the gifts...it's all just magnificent isn't it? I wish that I could feel like this all the time. Anywho, Friday night Steve and I went to the Museum of Fine Arts. On Saturday I chilled all day. I did something during the day that I can't remember, and then that night I went out with my mom, sisters, and a few other family members. That was fantastic. I spent all day Sunday dancing with my brother then we went to Texas Roadhouse with my bestfriend and his gf and I had the biggest meal I've ever ordered. I brought the leftovers to lunch for work. I'm so amped...I still have a 3 day work week, Thanksgiving at my moms, and my fav holiday of all Black Friday to look forward to. Lovely, lovely, lovely :)

My chicken was cute at first...then I realized that it resembled a bleeding heart. Weird.

Add Sweet Potatoe with marshmallows on top, Chili with green onions and cheese, Pulled Pork, and Half a slab of ribs to my meal. I went too hard.

I love this pic from the MFA. lol. Look at his leopard throw he has thrown over his shoulder like so...diva.

This is probably the greatest room that I've ever seen in my life. I am so taking inspiration from it for something.

This is my future bed in law. A girl can dream.

By far the fanciest coat rack I've ever seen in my life. I love this thing it's crazy.

If I owned this I would drink everything out of it from water to whiskey.

The colors in this hallway pleased me. I didn't even notice it til just now, but it's the same colorway as my buisness cards. lol. I was probably so attracted to it because of the familiarity and because it's already a combo I've worked with.

Close up of the lovely hallway. I don't know that I agree with that black frame. There were a few frames that I could have done without in that hallway the gold ones suited the look and feel best. There was a black one with red specks in particular that I was all set with. lol.

Idk what this is...a podium? I like it though.

Imagine having pillars like this outside your front door?! Dopeness.

This chest is simple and magnificent at the same time.

Everytime I go to the MFA I take a picture of this colored relief. I LOVE it.

I think this is an urn...but either way it would like in my house.

Wreath necklace. Pure and solid gold. What I wouldn't give to rock that around my neck...*sigh*

More pics to come...I think I've had the problem before of only being able to post 15 pics at a time. Whatevs. I hope that all of you are having as lovely a time as I am. Kisses.

LYDIA COURTEILLE

I don't know where to begin. I don't think I have the vocabulary to speak what I felt when I saw these pics. I nearly fainted, I can say that much. Oh, Lydia! How long have you roamed this sweet earth before I knew of you?! This jewelry is bananas. The drawings are RIDICULOUS. I am in love. I've posted the website below the pics...please pay homage.

I didn't comment on the other pics, but I had to for this one cuz that snake thing on her arm/hand?! WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK?! I want that SO bad! I've never seen anything like it. I'm sure the prices for all of this stuff is way out of my range, but a girl can look/dream/hope :-/

TAJ UPDATE

Just in case you were wondering how TAJ is doing, he is quite swell. He fell asleep in one of my shoe boxes the other day and I woke him up while trying to get the perfect pic. He yelled at me :(

Still Mommy's baby :)

Halloween Outfit

Just a quick outfit post. I wore this to my sisters' Halloween party. I just had no time to put together a costume. Anyway, the party was a good time. Too good almost.

Added more shoes to the collection. I bought those bracelets at the same time. I wore them both to the party. The color is all wrong because my camera is trash, but they look cute like this too. I guess.

The next morning I found like 20 drunk pics of me in my moms mirror in her bathroom. lol. This was the most decent looking one.

BOOMERANGS

I went to Boomerangs this weekend for the first time ever. My mom insists that we've gone there together before, but there's no way I wouldn't remember being in there. They are selling pure thrift magic. I wish I could have gone through the gear...I saw plenty of gaudy shit right up my alley sticking out on the racks...but I'm in full home mode so I was all about finding things that would make my apartment pretty :). These pictures are absolutely terrible (would you expect from me?) but I just wanted to share. Yay to Boomerangs!

A vase and a tile coaster that I intend to rest it on. They were $3 and $1.50, respectively.

Lovely plates! The flower ones were 50 cents each, the black ones are from Pfaltzgraaf's Midnight Sun collection ( I LIVE to look shit up. lol) and they were $1 each which is a steal seeing as though they're still available on the company's website for $7.99 apiece. The red one's are made by a company called Franciscan and they were $1 each as well. The company doesn't seem to have its own website, but I was able to find some of their stuff on various websites and according to the steep prices I saw I'm assuming I got a pretty great deal on those as well.

Worst pic ever. This lamp was only $10! the color is SO lovely...I couldn't leave it behind. The plug and cord make me believe it's super old. I wish I would have thought to take a pic. I don't think I've ever seen a plug quite like it. Besides the color I was enthused to get it home and plug it in and find out that not only does it work perfectly, there's a dimmer box on the cord. :). I will have to remind myself to never leave it plugged in if I'm not near it though. Idk how much I trust that old ass cord. lol.

Oddly enough I saw this, picked it up, and said I can put my bananas on this. And that's exactly what it's doing right now. Holding bananas. I think it was $2-$3.

I bought a few other things as well...a handmade bowl I plan to use on the kitchen table as a fruit bowl and a zebra print picture frame that came with an autographed pic of Kim Zmeskal inside (anyone want that?!)...I can't remember if there was anything else. I am absolutely planning on returning soon though. There was a huge trunk there that they were selling for $20 (!) but we couldn't get it open. They promised that they'd work on it for me and give me a call if they got it to open. I hope they do I have budgeted $200 for a trunk and I'd cry if I could get one for 10x less. My mom tells me that they have another location. Sometimes I swear that Boston is too good to me.

VIVALDI, FOUR SEASONS (WINTER)

This is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen (or heard). The plain white masks with the heapings of colorful tulle... *dies*. Art makes my world go round and this gives my rotation a kick.

You can also check out a pretty cool sand drawing video for his Spring piece here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-dHxJNsxJc

SHOE PORN cont.

Had to continue the post. Apparently blogger only allows 15 pics per post...? I guess.

Charlotte Olympia for Peter Som on the feet of one of my fav bloggers Jane from Sea of Shoes

A funky jutting heel from United Nude. I can dig it.

These Raphael Young beauties are probably not for me, but I can absolutely appreciate that heel and the blue. Very pleasing to the eye.

Pucci! OMG these are fuh-ly

I think I've shown these Nicholas Kirkwood feat. Keith Haring print heels before, but I just can't get over the man's genius. His interpretation of it all is crazy.
